Meditation aims to strengthen the will and reconfirm good resolutions. At least a half hour is dedicated to it every day.
If it is guided by a priest, or by another person, one should reflect upon what is said. Instead, if made individually, each should choose a book that suits his or her individual needs. Above all, one should meditate frequently on the eternal truths and on the teaching of Jesus Master, Way and Truth and Life, as it is set forth in the Gospels and in authoritative commentaries. It is necessary to guard against the danger of reducing the meditation to mere instruction of the mind or spiritual reading. The greater part of the time is to be dedicated to reflection, examination, sorrow, resolutions, and prayer.
