God respects our freedom, while giving us his law, proposing truths to us, and asking for our spiritual worship. But when life’s trial is over, he calls each one to judgment. Jesus Christ will cast on the soul a light in which it will see all it has done and all it has omitted. Correlated are three possible sentences: heaven, purgatory, hell (see Gen 2:3; Dt 11:26; 30:15–19; Jer 21:8; Rom 6:22; 14:18).
I thank you, O God, my Father, for having made me for yourself. I have come from your creative hands!
I will return to your hands, the hands of a Judge and a Father.
My eternity depends on me; those who want to, will be saved. I desire it! But I need your grace: much light, much comfort.
I hope in you.
