In Jesus Christ, the Church is the teacher of prayer and the spiritual life. She has received and administers the Sacraments. Baptism gives life; Confirmation strengthens it; Reconciliation restores it; Eucharist nourishes it; the Anointing of the Sick completes it; Matrimony guarantees the stability of civil society; Holy Orders assures the continuation of the Church (see 1 Cor14:1–25).
I thank you, O Divine Master, author of the Sacraments administered by the Church.
In them, you work with your divine powers. Through them, we live and act in you, just as the branch lives of the vine and bears fruit because of the vine.
Through the Sacraments, we are your everlasting joy.
