Tempted by the serpent, Adam and Eve fell into sin and were deprived of their privileges and heavenly gifts. In his mercy, and in virtue of the Son, our Restorer and Redeemer, God foretold that a Woman would crush the head of the serpent (see Gen 3:1–24).
Blessed be the mercy of the heavenly Father!
Blessed be the Son of God who offers himself to make reparation for the sins of humanity.
Blessed be the Holy Spirit who, in Mary, begins the new generation of sons and daughters of God.
Blessed be the new Eve, hope of the human race.
